Exterior Sun Shade Mounting Brackets for Outdoor/Indoor Roller Blinds (Crank/Cordless)

Mounting brackets can be installed horizontally or vertically, depending on the fixture used to install the shades. After determining the installation location for the mounting brackets, use the bracket as a template to mark the hole positions and pre-drill holes in the surface for inserting plastic anchors.

If the medium onto which the brackets will be mounted is solid wood, plastic anchors are not necessary, and the brackets can be directly installed using screws. For other surfaces, such as concrete or stone, anchors are required. After drilling the holes, insert the plastic anchors until they are flush with the surface. If needed, lightly tap the anchor into the hole with a hammer. Then, attach the brackets to the surface using screws.

For vertical mounting, remove the four screws from both brackets. Turn the Clutch Unit 90 degrees so the clutch eyelet hangs straight down, and turn the Idle End Unit so the opening faces away from the window. Replace the screws.

The final step is to install the bracket holders for the bungee cord and ring that will be tied to the ends of the shade. This is used to help secure the shade during windy conditions. Install the bracket at a side location, like the mounting brackets. Ensure each bracket is at least 6 feet from the top of the shade and can be reached by the bungee cord. Insert the ring into the bracket to secure it.

If you want the Clutch on the left side of the shade, remove the four screws from the Crank unit and turn it 180 degrees so the wand eyelet can now hang down from the left side. No change is needed to the Idle End Unit, as it works for both right and left mounts. Additionally, pull out both End Plugs from the tube and switch them.

For a top/ceiling mount, remove the four screws from both brackets. Turn the Crank unit 90 degrees so the Clutch eyelet hangs straight down, and turn the Idle End Unit so the opening faces away from the window. Replace the screws.

This is a set of mounting brackets for all crank-operated exterior/indoor roller shades, suitable for both left-hand and right-hand operation. These are not a complete exterior sun shade.

The parts included are high-density stainless steel screws and plastic anchors, making it easy to replace and install the brackets. This is a perfect solution for fixing damaged exterior sun shades or indoor roller blinds.

The universal design allows these brackets to be used with all crank-operated roller sun shades, such as those from Coolaroo and other brands.
